Friction Score ranks Notion templates, AI workflows, and apps by how hard they are to set up, how hard it is to get a task in, and whether you are still using them after 30 days.
How a score is made
- 25%
- Setup. How much work happens before a task can exist. Accounts, databases, and the weekend lost to configuration.
- 40%
- Capture. How hard it is to get a task in when you are already late. This weighs the most. It is where most systems die.
- 35%
- 30-day stick. How hard it is to still be using it a month later. A 1 means the habit holds. A 10 means people quit.
Overall = setup × 0.25 + capture × 0.40 + 30-day stick × 0.35, rounded to one decimal. Lower is easier. A beautiful dashboard can still be a 7.
- Low friction 1.0–3.4. You can start without building a second job.
- Moderate friction 3.5–5.5. Usable if you already like this kind of system.
- High friction 5.6–10.0. Most people will quit before it pays off.
